A multi-disciplinary and multi-faceted collaboration between the musicians of Ensemble Silakbo, their composer-in-residence Adam Clarke and visual artist Lode Laperre. It is a presentation of French composer Olivier Messiaen’s iconic work “Quartet for the End of Time” alongside a newly composed piece by Canadian composer Adam Vincent Clarke. Furthermore, through the creation of eight works of art, one inspired by each movement of the Quartet for the End of Time, Belgian Artist Lode Laperre explores the perceptual phenomenon of Synesthesia, a condition which Messiaen is known to have had and which was one of the major influences in his music writing.

“I had so much fun this week coaching and mentoring the fantastic international Ensemble Silakbo in my course at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, Italy. They did an absolutely astonishing and unforgettable performance of the "Quartet for the End of Time" in my class concert. It's my great joy to work with such talented and dedicated young musicians!!!”
